So after we saw the train we started our hike up the mountain. We fully expected to have to carry her part of the way but no way! She did the whole way up by herself! She was very excited about it all and her & J kept jumping on the rocks.
It was a beautiful day!! It was a little hot but we had plenty of water in the backpack and snacks so it was great. We rarely do things just with us 3 because we have a big family and love spending time with them. But I have to say, it was nice just relaxing and doing exactly what we wanted to do and not worrying about anyone else. We are trying to plan a family trip (with just us 3) to the mountains before it gets too cold. I am really looking forward to it.
So, back to Stone Mountain, we climbed the whole way. And had a snack on top of the mountain overlooking the beautiful day.
When we got to the top we were all sweaty and were planning on riding the little shuttle cars down but they were being worked on so we had no choice but to walk back down. But it wasn't nearly as hot on the way down. When we got back down, we drove around to where the Laser Show is and we had a picnic and let H run around on the lawn. I don't know why I didn't get any pictures of that, but oh well. Use your imagination. After that H was really tired and we were all sweaty so we got in the car and were driving back home. We made a stop to see my mom and step dad and hung out there while Hazel told them all about Stone Mountain. We had such a fun day and are planning to go back in a couple weeks with some friends to the Pumpkin Patch! It is a great, cheap, way to spend the day outdoors!
Other than that, we really have been quite boring. We are still running 4-5 times a week and I have started adding Jillian's 30 Day Shred to my running. I'm at a plateau right now and trying to bust through it. But to date I have lost 24 pounds since April! Still have around 20 that I want to lose, but that might have to be put on hold because some things in life are more important that losing weight. ;-)
In other news, we had our 2 year anniversary on September 18th! It was a very low key and a very US anniversary celebration! It was a Tuesday so J had to work, but when he got home he took H to the store with him so I could relax/ get ready for our in-home date without a 2 year climbing all over me like normal. So when they got home, Jonathan started cooking and we just hung out and talked and laughed and then he got H in the bath tub and to bed. Are you wondering what I was doing? Yeah, I wasn't do anything. It was perfect. Usually I am the one doing everything for everyone else so it was WONDERFUL to just be able to sit and do nothing! H and I did make a cake during the day. I love baking and I love sharing that with H, she has really become a great stirrer.
After H went to bed, we got dressed up and had a candlelit dinner and just talked with no interruptions, no parenting. Just us. It was great. Then, after dinner, we got a piece of cake and watched one of our shows. It was a great anniversary. No stress. Just relaxing with my husband. I couldn't be more blessed to have him as my husband. He makes me laugh like no one ever has and I wouldn't want anyone else as my partner in parenting! We have been together for almost 5 years and he still surprises me and makes me happier than I have ever been.
Now to blow your mind:
This was our very first picture together, in 2008. We were babies. Also, check out his hair.
I promise we weren't swimming naked.
Our first 5K- On Jonathan's birthday! May 21, 2011
Man, my hair was rocking in this pic!
We've been through more than most people have to go through, but I wouldn't have it any other way. We are stronger than ever and I know I will love him forever.
Until Next Time
